How Much Should I Give?

Money is a big deal today: we work for it, we save it, we spend it, we think about it, we waste it, we invest it, and we fret over it. It was a big deal in biblical times as well. Did you know that of the 31,000 + verses in the Bible, about 2350 of them speak to money and its earning, its use, and its investing? It has been noted that this count exceeds the combined number of verses on prayer and faith, so we get the sense that this topic is important to God and, therefore, must be important to us as well.

So this week’s question is simple: “How much should I give?” I am asked this question with some frequency, and I always cover this topic when providing premarital care for couples intending marriage.
