How to Deal with Doubt
Last week I shared at the end of my sermon a story from the book about Father Arseny. That night when reading the next chapter I was even more amazed at the story that played out. Father Arseny and another prisoner from the camp were sent to solitaire confinement, which was a small metal box exposed to outside air. The weather during that time was -22 and no person had ever survived from two days in “the box” during winter. The other prisoner was terrified, but Father Arseny prayed the entire two days and the men came out alive and in good health. Father Arseny never doubted God’s power. I read that story in awe, but also wondering if I would really have that much faith in God to protect me…You see doubt is a frustrating part of our faith journey. That’s why we’ll be talking in depth about doubt and how we can deal with it. I look forward to spending this Sunday with you during our three services, discussing how we can grow stronger in our faith!
